For being unsung heroes in our community these nominees have won Pride of Australia awards.

Peace Award

Sana Mammo

For advancing understanding, tolerance and social harmony among Australians of any background.

Born in Basra, Iraq, Sana Mammo gave up her engineering career to establish Kidz 2 Kidz, a project to raise awareness of the Iraqi culture, contribute to the rebuilding of Iraq and generate awareness in Australia of the plight of people who were ruled by a dictatorship for decades. The Kidz 2 Kidz choir, made up of 500 students from three Brisbane schools, has recorded a CD with proceeds going to the help children in war-torn countries.
